The annual Kasanka bat migration is the planet's largest mammal migration. The Kasanka National Park is only 39 000 ha – one of Zambia's smaller national parks in the north of the country right at the border with the DR Congo. Between October and December each year, up to ten million straw-colored fruit bats descend into a tiny patch of evergreen swamp forest inside this forest. It is difficult to do justice to this event with photos alone, and even a video barely captures the sights and sounds of the event.
